I found myself actually watching the movie and not just pretending to look interested for the kids.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12985978.post-36785146227296221362008-08-11T17:11:00.000-04:002008-08-11T17:11:00.000-04:00Quite interesting actually, i'll have to bookmark ...Quite interesting actually, i'll have to bookmark your site now to check out what other things you might say. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12985978.post-5908673093617230522008-06-19T06:31:00.000-04:002008-06-19T06:31:00.000-04:00Thanks chris..You gave nice information which is v...Thanks chris..You gave nice information which is very helpful to evry student.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12985978.post-50478173757664953012008-03-02T23:31:00.000-05:002008-03-02T23:31:00.000-05:00An update from Pixar:The TD job/internship offerin...An update from Pixar:

The TD job/internship offerings this year (2008) are different from earlier years. I think they're a lot better! Below is a quick summary, but note that these are for the TD positions only. The art/story/animation Internships have a somewhat different structure.

If you're an undergrad early in your career and you're going to return to school after you do your time at Pixar, you probably want to apply for the new Pixar Undergraduate Program. You won't be in actual production. Instead, you'll be in a classroom environment working alongside the other PUPs.

If you're an undergrad later in your career, and you think you could fairly easily be plugged right in to production at Pixar as a TD (i.e., your reel is strong and you have a clear specialty/specialties), AND you plan on returning right to school, you should apply for a TD Internship.

If you are a recent grad but otherwise you match the qualifications for the Internship, you should apply for the Residency program (a one-year full-time production gig).

If you've been out of school too long you'll need to be applying to their regular full-time positions.

I hope this helps.Chris Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14573705311410528797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12985978.post-51021799810479299742007-02-14T19:25:00.000-05:002007-02-14T19:25:00.000-05:00Hi Miriana! First, I wanted to take some focused time to work on art and animation projects. Teaching is very busy, and I found that while ideas kept coming to me I never had time to actually produce any of them.

The second reason was to try and ensure that I could maintain an academic career. Many (most?) higher-ed institutions require some form of "terminal" degree to be eligible for tenure. The MFA is a terminal art degree, so I'm trying to cover my bases on that end.

Thanks for asking -Chris Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14573705311410528797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12985978.post-1171491359564364822007-02-14T17:15:00.000-05:002007-02-14T17:15:00.000-05:00Hi Chris, this is Miriana, your student from Smith...Hi Chris, this is Miriana, your student from Smith from 2001. You introduced me to digital art and I really appreciate what you taught me esp. compositing.

Now if you only comment on why you are doing an MFA, this section will be complete. So, MFA in digital art?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
